ChatGPT pricing 2026: every plan in EUR

The price of ChatGPT looks simple until someone has to budget for a whole team, because the plans mix personal subscriptions with business seats and OpenAI lists everything in US dollars. ChatGPT pricing in 2026 runs from $0 for Free to $200 a month for the top Pro tier, with business seats from $20 per user.¹² Below is each plan with a rough euro figure, what it includes, what eight users cost in a year and how a company pays when finance insists on an invoice.

The euro figures use about 0.85 euros to the dollar, where the rate sat in September 2026, and they exclude VAT, which OpenAI adds at checkout based on your country. ChatGPT pricing at a glance: every plan

OpenAI sells four personal plans and two business plans, where Business has two seat types and Enterprise has no public price list.

ChatGPT Free: $0

ChatGPT Free covers everyday chat with limits on uploads, image creation and the heavier tools. It is enough to test whether your meeting notes come out usable, although the account belongs to the person and not to the company, so it disappears from your control the day that person leaves.

ChatGPT Go: $8 a month in the US

ChatGPT Go costs $8 a month in the US, and OpenAI sets a localised price per country to keep checkout simple.³ Go gives more messages, file uploads and image creation than Free. OpenAI has said it will test ads in Free and Go, while Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise stay ad-free, which is reason enough to keep Go away from work.³

ChatGPT Plus: $20 a month

ChatGPT Plus lists at $20 a month, roughly €17 before VAT, and adds the reasoning models, projects, scheduled tasks and custom GPTs. Plus also gets the ChatGPT Work agent, which rolled out to paid plans from 9 July 2026.⁴ Most employees who pay privately are on Plus, and it shows up in expense claims as separate receipts without the company's VAT number.

ChatGPT Pro: $100 or $200 a month

ChatGPT Pro comes in two tiers, where Pro at $100 gives five times the usage of Plus and Pro at $200 gives twenty times.² OpenAI paused new sign-ups and upgrades to the $200 tier on 10 September 2026, while existing $200 subscriptions and the $100 tier are not affected.² Pro earns its price for a developer or analyst who runs code or deep research all day, and never for a team, because each Pro account is still personal.

ChatGPT Business: $20 or $25 per seat

ChatGPT Business costs $20 per seat per month billed annually or $25 monthly, and the Premium seat with five times the usage costs $100 or $125.¹ Both seat types give ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work and Codex in one shared workspace with single sign-on, meaning people log in with the company account, and OpenAI does not train on business data by default.⁵ The workspace needs at least two seats, and you can mix seat types.¹

ChatGPT Enterprise: a quote from sales

ChatGPT Enterprise has no public price and is sold through OpenAI's sales team. Business already lets the workspace owner pick Europe for content at rest as OpenAI rolls that option out, so Enterprise earns its price through inference residency, meaning the model also runs in the region, and through invoicing.⁶¹ Expect a quote and a negotiation rather than a price, and expect it to pay off only when in-region processing is a demand from a customer or from your own data protection officer.

What does ChatGPT cost a company with eight people?

Eight people on private Plus accounts cost $1,920 a year, about €1,630, as eight separate receipts. Eight Standard seats on Business cost exactly the same $1,920 on annual billing, or $2,400 on monthly billing, about €2,040.¹ The price is level, while Business adds a workspace where an admin closes the account the day someone leaves.

Card payment is the catch. Invoicing, bank transfer, purchase orders and payment terms are not available for self-serve Business workspaces, and OpenAI support cannot convert an existing workspace to invoicing later.¹ Plenty of finance teams accept a company card, and for them the direct route is the right one.

What happens when a seat is not enough?

Business and Enterprise can buy credits for usage beyond a seat's allowance, and OpenAI publishes the rate card for those credits in its help centre.⁷ Credits mean the total is no longer the seat price times the number of users, so set a spending cap in the workspace settings before the first heavy user starts.⁷ The Premium seat at $100 is the fixed-price alternative for someone who runs ChatGPT Work for several hours a day, while Standard covers writing and summarising.

Is ChatGPT more expensive than Claude?

At list price the two sit on the same line. ChatGPT Plus and Claude Pro both cost $20 a month, and a Standard seat on either team plan costs $20 per user per month billed annually.¹⁸ The difference that matters more than price is where the work happens, because ChatGPT Work runs across the cloud apps you connect while Claude also works inside Excel, Word and PowerPoint through its add-ins.
